How do I configure Netscape Communiquator 7.0 outgoing email from POP using SSL?

1) Start Netscape.

2) Select Window from the menu spanning across the top of the screen and then select Mail & Newsgroups

3) Select Edit, and from the ensuing drop down menu select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings

4) From the left hand panel select Server Settings located under your account name.  

5) From the right hand panel, enter the appropriate server name(either   andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu)  in the Server Name field.

6) Check the Use secure connection (SSL) box under the Server Setting section.  Other settings in this window can be personalized to fit your work style.

7) From the left pane of the Mail & Newgroups Account Settings window, click Outgoing Server (SMTP).

8.  From the right hand panel, enter the appropriate server name(either   andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu)  in the Server Name field

9) Check the User name and password box

10) Enter your NetID in the User Name field

11) Click the Always button under Use secure connection (SSL)>

12) Click OK.

13) Click File, and then Exit.   Netscape will need to be restarted before changes will be applied.  Close all components of Netscape (the browser, e-mail program, etc.)

14)  Restart Netscape.
