- Open Windows Vista Mail
- From the Tools menu select the Accounts item
- From the Accounts dialog box select the account you wish to edit
- Click the Properties button
- Click the Servers tab.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box labeled This server requires authentication
- Click the Setting button
- Ensure that Logon Information is set to Use the same settings as my incoming mail server is selected
- Click OK
- Click the Advanced tab
- In the Server Port
Numbers section, check the box This server requires a secure
connection (SSL) under the Incoming Mail (IMAP)
or (POP3) sections.
- Click Apply, click OK, and then click Close.
