How do I re-configure SMTP authentication with SSL for Vista Mail?

  1. Open Windows Vista Mail
  2. From the Tools menu select the Accounts item
  3. From the Accounts dialog box select the account you wish to edit
  4. Click the Properties button
  5. Click the Servers tab.
  6. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box labeled This server requires authentication
  7. Click the Setting button
  8. Ensure that Logon Information is set to Use the same settings as my incoming  mail server is selected
  9. Click OK
  10. Click the Advanced tab
  11. In the Server Port Numbers section, check the box This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under the Incoming Mail (IMAP) or (POP3) sections.
  12. Click Apply, click OK, and then click Close.
