Your web page is typically contained within a directory named public_html located in your UNIX home directory on either andromeda or pegasus.  The URL to access your web page is http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~netid or  http://pegasus.rutgers.edu/~netid.

If you receive an Error 403 when attempting to access your web site you may need to change the access (permissions) to your web site. Please see the  faq in this section on making your web site viewable.

Other potential problems for being unable to view your web page are
  • Did you remember to include  a  tilde ~ in the address?
  • Has the file been uploaded to the proper directory? The file you are attempting to view should either be in public_html or one of its subdirectories
  • Our web servers are on unix systems. Systems using that operating system differentiate between upper and lower case letter. As a result, NWKHOME is not the same as nwkhome. Macintosh and windows do not make the same distinction and treat upper and lower case as equivalent.
  • You may be viewing a cached(old) version of your web page. From the browser menu bar, click the Refresh/Reload  button
