How do I determine if I have up-to-date drivers for my MS Windows system wireless card?

As with any update, the update can create new problem. Please make sure you backup your system prior to making any changes.
 
In windows you determine if your wireless drivers are up-to-date by

Windows 2000
  1. Right click My Computer
  2. Select Properties
  3. Click Hardware tab
  4. Click Device Manager
  5. If needed expand Network Adapters(click plus sign)
  6. Right click the wireless adapter(record adapter name)
  7. Select Properties
  8. Select Drivers tab(record driver version)
Windows XP

  1. Select Start
  2. Right Click My Computer
  3. Select Properties
  4. Click Hardware tab
  5. Click Device Manager
  6. If needed expand Network Adapters(click plus sign)
  7. Right click the wireless adapter(record adapter name)
  8. Select Properties
  9. Select Drivers tab(record driver version)
Windows Vista

  1. Select Start icon
  2. Right click Computer
  3. Select Properties
  4. Click Device Manager
  5. If needed expand Network Adapters(click plus sign)
  6. Right click the wireless adapter(record adapter name)
  7. Select Properties
  8. Select Drivers tab(record driver version)
Visit you wireless card manufacture's support web page to search for the newest driver version.
