sent to the list alias are distributed to the list's subscribers, for example a
message sent to mailman-users@andromeda.rutgers.edu gets distributed to the
subscribers to the mailman-users list. In other words, when you email
your list, every subscriber to your list gets your email. The email address of
your list is whatever-you-named-it@andromeda.rutgers.edu -- so, with a mailing
list, one email gets the job done. You do not have to send each individual a
separate email.
